From a young age, Amani displayed a natural talent for drawing, particularly cartoons. This early passion for art laid the foundation for what would become a successful career in the vibrant world of African art.

After completing his formal education, Amani sought to refine his artistic skills and turned to his sister-in-law, Agnes Mpata, a renowned Tingatinga artist, for guidance. Under her mentorship, Amani embraced the Tingatinga style, a distinctive and colorful genre of painting that originated in Tanzania in the 1960s. The style is known for its bold use of color and intricate depictions of African wildlife and cultural scenes.

Amani's work is particularly noted for its depiction of Maasai themes. His Maasai paintings are characterized by their dynamic representation of the Maasai people, capturing the vibrancy and spirit of one of Africa's most iconic tribes.
